Custom made traditional style cases up to 1.5 mtrs. (6 ft.) in length with the attention to detail that you rightly expect.

The wood. Only selected solid wood is used for the framing. American Oak, Ash, Mahogany and Sapele is always in stock. Beech, Cherry, Maple and other hardwoods can be supplied.
You have the choice of the framing being in its natural finish ready to stain and polish or, with the standard finish which is pre-sealed and wax polished retaining the natural beauty of the chosen wood colour and grain.

Dimensions. The internal dimensions required should be specified. Externally the base extends approx. 1" (25mm) all round. The overall height extends by approx. 2" (50mm).

The assembly. Except for small cases which are shipped (UK only) fully assembled, It requires only a machine screw into each corner post to assemble. The machine screws locate in steel threaded inserts fitted into the top and bottom of each post. All glazing panels locate within machined slots in the framing.

Locking access door. Except to smaller cases, a lockable door glazing panel can be fitted as an option. The door is integral with and fits within the confines of the framing hence is very discrete. Enables easy access and safe storage of ship models in the process of construction

The base of the case supplied is of a recessed 'tray' configuration varying from 10 to 20mm in depth depending on case size. A removable sub base is supplied that can be felt covered, left plain for painting or even have a clear acrylic insert beneath which you include some form of covering perhaps with a document naming and describing the features of the vessel.

A series of photos can be seen here of a case in various stages of construction.

For the technically minded, the acrylic does not yellow with age and is uv stabilized.Read what the experts say
It will be apparent that if the customer so chooses in the future, the acrylic panels can easily be replaced with glass.
